June 23, 1927 – July 30, 2012
We are extremely sad to lose Bill, beloved husband of Ann, on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Edna Dalgleish.
Bill was born in Edmonton and moved across Canada with his family before settling in Calgary. He attended Rideau Park and Central High School and graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BCom degree in 1948. He spent eleven years with Gulf Oil Canada and then returned to UBC and graduated in law in 1963. After his call to the Bar in Calgary he became Sheriff and Clerk of the Court, and was later appointed to the Office of Master of the Queen’s Bench and received his Q.C. in 1979.
Ann and her boyfriend (as she called him) have spent many happy years at the CG & CC and also twenty-five years at the Desert Island CC in Palm Desert where they had many friends and fun times in the winter months. He was a seventy-three year member of the Country Club and enjoyed his daily rounds with his numerous golf buddies. Bill also enjoyed gardening and he was proud of his lawn and flowers.
Bill also enjoyed his affiliation with the Stampede for over 20 years. He was a senior associate with the same midway committee and they had fun judging everything from hotdog stands to decorating and garbage disposal. He made many friends that have kept in touch to this day.
Bill is survived by, as he called her, his “beautiful wife” Ann of nearly forty years; his sister-in-law Dorothy Morrison of Vancouver; nieces and nephews, Ann and George Palmer of Guadalajara, MX, Scott and Candace Morrison of Vancouver, Nancy and Doug Colborne of Calgary, Wendy Morrison and Ron Halliday of Spruce View, AB, Joe and Merick Morrison of Calgary and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
