Asimenia “Sylvia” Dagalis passed away peacefully at the Sarcee Hospice on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the age of 78 years.
Asimenia was born in Nea Zihni, Serres Greece. She remained there until 1969 when she moved to Windsor, Ont. with her husband Vasilios and son Paskalis, leaving behind her parents and siblings to start a new life of hopes and dreams. In 1980 they moved to Calgary, AB. to start a family cleaning business they had together for thirty-two years. Her greatest passion was cooking for her family and friends and spreading the love with her Greek cooking and warm heart. She is survived by her loving husband Vasilios (Bill) of fifty years; son Paskalis Dagalis and grandson Nicholas; daughter Vasiliki “Bessy” (Kirby) Linzmeyer and granddaughters, Olivia and Madeleine; sisters, Thodora and Hrisoula in Greece; and brothers, Dimitri and Giorgo in Windsor, Ont.
Sylvia was a compassionate and loving wife and mother. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.
Graveside Service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens, Lower Springbank Road and 17 Aveune S.W. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 12:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnessess, 270 Midpark Way SE, on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 2:00p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
