It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Venicio da Costa on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the age of 76 years. He is now in God’s loving arms.

Venicio and his family immigrated to Canada from Azores, Portugal in 1967 to start a new life. He was a hardworking, gentle, quiet man who treasured his family. He was also an active member of St. Thomas More Parish which he attended for over thirty years.

Venicio is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Maria “Dora” da Costa; sons Alex (Maddie) and Roy (Lucy); cherished granddaughters, Stacy and Natasha; his brother Sidney (Lorena) and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (15 Templebow Road N.E.) on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (15 Templebow Road N.E.) on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

  3. It was very hard to hear of your fathers passing. I remember him as a very proud man. One could see that he was very proud of his two sons. I did see him at the Portuguese Church many times by your mothers side. I am very sorry to hear of your loss, And hope that you gain strength with your family at this time. God Bles.
