CUSANO – Maria Teresa (nee Pietraroia)
February 13, 1916 – January 12, 2010
Maria Teresa Cusano of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the age of 93 years.
She was born on February 13, 1916 in Sepino, Campobasso, Italy. She later immigrated to Canada in 1953 with her two children and joined her husband in Calgary, AB. Maria was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, spending her life nurturing family and friends. Maria and her late husband (Carmine) enjoyed spending summers near Vernon, BC .
Maria is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cristina and Domenico Lisella; son and daughter-in-law, Luigi A. and Jan Cusano; four grandchildren, Rita F. Lisella, Joseph (Melody) Lisella, Teresa M. Cusano, and Melina A. Cusano; and one great granddaughter Carmen Lisella. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Maria Teresa was predeceased by her husband Carmine and by her daughter-in-law Rita Ellen (West) Cusano. The family extends a special thank you to Lourdes M. Ysunza for her loving care and compassion to our mother.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
