Cuming, Thomas Robert

Thomas Robert Cuming of Airdrie passed away very suddenly on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at the age of 84 years.

Tom leaves behind a legacy of benevolence and public service having served as Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O.E. Elks in Crossfield and Calgary (on two occasions), and also as Grand Exalted Ruler of Canada. Tom also served as Past Master of the Crossfield Masonic Lodge, and was a member of the Crossfield Royal Canadian Legion. Tom loved the land and never stopped farming. He had a legion of friends throughout Alberta, and his charitable efforts literally touched thousands of people, primarily children in need. He will be sorely missed by his family, his friends and his brothers from his Lodges.

Tom will be lovingly remembered by his sons, David and Lawrence; daughter-in-law Mary Lou; grandson Jamie and his wife Tracey; and great-granddaughter Brooke; grandson Jeff; granddaughter Jennifer Klassen and her husband Bill and great-granddaughter Hailey; as well as grandsons, Taylor, Parker and Jonah Cuming. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Howard and Sonia Ross; brother-in-law Leslie Ross; and sister-in-law Molly Ross. Tom was very recently predeceased by his loving wife Violet.

Funeral Services will be held at the Crossfield Community Hall (Crossfield, AB) on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Family Graveside Service to follow at Crossfield Cemetery.
