October 22, 1937 – April 7, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce that Gail passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Gail was born in Calgary, Alberta on October 22, 1937, and lived there her entire life. Her husband Frank of 54 years, who married the love of his life on November 8, 1958, survives her. She is also survived by their children Thomas (Tom), Dennis, Shane, Susan & Kevin Carlson of Tsawwassen B.C., and Arlene & Terry Potter. Gail was a Grandma to five joys Sarah and Kirby Carlson, Taylor & Adam Cullen and Marcus Potter. Her parents Fred and Peggy Foulston predeceased her.
She loved many things in life. As a young girl spending time with friends going to the soda fountain. Later, coaching her children and others in Youth Bowling for many years. Gail loved travelling as a family when her kids where young in a converted school bus all over the countryside. Spending time with her family for all the holidays. Her sense of humour was for people who actually understood her. Throughout her life she loved her dogs, Cocoa, Nipper, Rusty and Lady. Her time riding her horses, Flicka, Princess and Gay.
At Gail’s request there will be no funeral. In remembrance of Gail’s passion for animals, we request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation www.arf.ab.ca or any animal shelter charity of your choice.
We would like to thank all of the medical staff at Rockyview, Foothills and Carewest Glenmore Park for their tremendous care attention and thoughtfulness given to Gail. And especially to the men and women of the Calgary Fire, EMS and police departments that always showed care, compassion and results when mom needed help the most.
