November 11, 1924 – April 9, 2012
Joan Crowshaw, beloved wife of Ken, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2012 at the age of 87 years.
Joan was born in Prince Rupert, BC and spent most of her school years in Port Alberni, BC. She and Ken were married in 1947 and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family gathering in Banff this past February.
Joan is survived by her loving husband and soul mate, Ken, daughters Pat Drake (John), Barb Beary (Brian); and son Dave (Maureen), eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Joan will be remembered for her wonderful smile, strong love of family and for being a role model to those who knew her. She loved the mountains, especially the Windermere Valley, and the ocean. She was a long-time active member of the Earl Grey Golf Club and had a very successful amateur golf career, winning several individual and team championships, including being a 4-time member of the Ladies Alberta Senior team. Joan and Ken travelled the world together and enjoyed over forty annual camping trips to White Swan Lake on the May long weekend. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Extended Care Facility and Emergency of the High River Hospital for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held Earl Grey Golf Club (6540 – 20th Street SW) on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

Offer Condolence for the family of CROWSHAW, Joan

I was so sorry to read of Joan’s passing. I have enjoyed playing bridge with her for a number of years. In fact the last time she played bridge was at my home on January 18th. We all enjoyed having her with us then, but I know she was not completely herself — she really was a good bridge player.
We will all miss her.
Dear Uncle Ken, Pat, Barb and David:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you on the loss of your dear wife and mother.
Love,
Kathleen, Pamela & David
Dear Dave & family,
We’re so sorry to read about the passing of your mom. Although it is difficult today to see beyond tomorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you.

I will not be able to attend the celebration of life for Joan, but I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to you and your family for your loss.
