1926 – Rhein, SK
2013 – Calgary, AB
Mary, beloved wife of the late Norm Crowe of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2013 at the age of 87 years.
Mary was born in Rhein, SK, and at a young age moved to Calgary with her parents Mike and Anna Crook. Throughout her life she also lived in Medicine Hat, AB, Montreal, QC and Burnaby, BC. She returned to Calgary with her family and resided here for the last 33 years. Mary attended Mount Royal College and received a diploma in Secretarial Arts and proved to be an essential asset to each company she worked for. Mary was a devoted volunteer for 17 years at the Foothills Hospital, achieving over 10,000 volunteer hours. She had many passions in life, including gardening, walking, reading, curling, playing bridge, traveling and community service. She loved hosting garage sales and indulging in the odd glass of wine (and sometimes the even ones too).
Mary was predeceased, in 1991 by her loving husband of 39 years, Norm Crowe. Mary is survived by her children, Leslie (Don) Buchan, Colleen Crowe (Spirit, Soloman and Desta) and Brad (Connie) Crowe; her grandchildren, Stuart (Laura) Buchan, Sydney Buchan, Stacey (Mike) Oakey and Tara Crowe; and great grandchildren Sophia Buchan, and soon to be baby Oakey.
The Crowe and Buchan families would like to acknowledge the staff and nurses at the Beverly Center Glenmore Landing, who have looked after her for the last year and a half. Their kindness and compassion for her was evident every day.
