It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Tina. She will be dearly missed by her loving companion Ryan Potter; her mother Tammy (Bernie) Crowchild; her father Hung (Ngoc) Nguyen; her baby brother David; her loving sisters; Jaime (Jimmy) and Kyla; her precious nieces Haiven and Adrianne; her grandparents Frances (Helmet) Jensen and her Pops Charlie Crowchild; Special Uncles Moun and Elliot; Special Aunties Thuy, Trihn, April and Sandy; Special Cousins Kiet and Phoung and her tiny baby puppy Chloe.
Throughout Tina’s life she spent most of her time with many friends and family. She attended Patrick Airlie Elementary School, Forrest Lawn High School, and Mount Royal University with hopes of achieving her nursing degree. Her hobbies included visiting, shopping, nature walks to her special places by the river, and spending time with her nieces whom she adored.
As a child, Tina and her family sang karaoke and she grew an instant love for songs and enjoyed a variety of music. She collected dolls that she called her babies and took great love and care of them. Her love for life was amazing and beautiful. Tina was a bright light that lit the room with her beauty and grace. Her optimistic personality was one that was adored by many. She left fond memories with the people who met her and she always left everyone with a smile.
Growing up, Tina practiced and valued both her cultural upbringings; traditional Indigenous teachings and her Vietnamese spirituality. Her faith guided her and helped her through everything that she did in life. It was these values that enriched her soul to be the loving and most compassionate person that we all knew. She always said “We are blessed, now stay blessed”, meaning that we must look at the gifts in our life and be humbled for receiving them. Her heart cared and loved everyone so deeply. It is those memories that we all treasure most about her.
Tina left an imprint on everyone’s heart. A legacy of love and light. She was a “legend” as most would say and like all legends, she will forever be remembered. No one could compare to the spirit that she had or to the person that her parents raised her to be.
Tina was predeceased by her Great Grandparents; Edith and Isaac Crowchild; Grandparents Tran Van and Thi Cui Nguyen; her Uncles Colin, Bradley (“Mr. King”), and Emerson; Aunties Scamp and Froggy; and her cousin Jacinda.
