So Sorry for your loss. Papa C was one of the nicest people I have known. We had plenty of laughs over our “kitchen suppers”, solved the problems of the world, and agreed to disagree on politics!!! Time does heal.

Doug, Your father’s passing should not be viewed as a sad event. He was a good man, husband, father and friend to you and Jennica and your children Megan and Scott. He had a good, fulfilling and long life and he still lives with you in spirit. Remember him and your mother for all the good times you had together with a smile and good feeling inside.

    Chris & Gail.

  3. Pat and John Macleod and family :

We got to know Ian through his friendship with my parents, Lloyd and Audrey Parks who have both passed away. Ian and dad enjoyed a lot of time golfing together at Canyon Meadows. My husband John and children Daniel and Melanie also had the enjoyment of golfing with Ian and admired him greatly. My father considered him his closest friend and both my parents thought he was a kind, thoughtful and fine man. One of the staff members at Canyon told me once that everyone loved Ian and my dad, and that they were truly “gentle”men and I couldn’t agree more.

I know my recollections are all positive. My condolences to you as you say good-bye to your dad in the daily here and now. loss is often harder when a person had been a part of your life for many, many years as your dad was.

  9. Doug and family,
I knew Ian through my parents (Bernard and Martha Perry), longtime friends from the Shell Oil days. In fact, as you know, my parents were some of the people he and Hazel visited in Southern California and it was always a much anticipated and much enjoyed visit. Your father led a wonderful life. Truly, there aren’t many people who manage to be so admired, loved, and respected, by acquaintances, colleagues, friends, AND family. A life well lived, I would say. Bravo.
    All best wishes, Kathy

Holly and family – We remember many lovely New Year’s Day dinners hosted by Ian and Hazel and the warmth with which we were welcomed. Every time Bill watches the business news on PBS, he thinks of your dad and Wall Street week with Louis R. He was a lovely charming man who will be sorely missed. Our sincere condolences.

Sher-Sher! Yah – it’s me – little Bev Bev…. Hope the Celebration of Life was filled with positive light and Crawford humour! I regret I wasn’t present, but the memories have flooded in!

From the days that Munro (Hazel) made me eat my greens before playing badminton, til house sitting with Rodent & Syd (the cats), whilst they were in Oceanside!! The day they put bars on the windows because they found me relaxing in the living room waiting for you before we could go out “and play”…. as I did a backwards shimmy through the slightly opened window LOL!!

I was soooo flattered when you and Dad came to my 50th all the way to the Yukon!!
And I was fortunate enough to say Goodbye to Hazel in her final days and feel like part of the family……
Your parents embraced me for some strange reason – maybe because we were friends and always will be!

Cherish those memories my friend! HUGS – Bev, Bev…..
