It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother Rose Dorothy Crane (Kinyewakan – Flying Holy) on January 11, 2013 at the age of 85.

Rose was born on the Oak River Reserve, MB on January 3, 1928. She married Leonard Crane of the Tsuu T’ina Nation in 1949, where they raised eight children. Mom and Dad travelled in the early 1960’s to South America, India, UK, and the USA. She was fundamentally responsible for initiating the addiction healing programs on the Tsuu T’ina Nation. Moms greatest passion was her children as her actions spoke volumes to provide and nurture. Mom will be missed by her 25 Grandchildren and her 32 Great Grandchildren. We would like to thank Dr. S. Mustata and staff at the Renal Clinic, Dr. D. Cook and staff in Internal Medicine and the staff at the Tsuu T’ina Health Center for doing their best to keep our mother with us as long as they could.

Rose’s surviving siblings are Cora (late Howard), Bray, Josephine Kinyewakan, Rita (Carl) Bragdon. Her children; Larry (Anne), Marina, Edna (Alvin), Ralph (Ivonne), Lorna, Daniel (Late Julie), Late Mark (Pearl), Eleanor (Scott), daughter-in-law May, her 4 adopted sons Darryl Whitney (Tammy), Buddy Big Crow (Alison), Late Harry Dodginghorse Jr. (Colleen), Late Stanley Big Plume (Sheryl).
