COURCY, Dorothy Louise

May 31, 1923– Montreal, QC
July 1, 2014 – Calgary, AB

Dorothy Louise Courcy beloved wife of the late Marius, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the age of 91 years.

Dorothy leaves behind her son Daniel and his wife Catherine; brothers Gord and Harry; and sister Eileen. She was predeceased by her brother George.

Dorothy spent most of her life in Montreal and moved to Calgary after the passing of Marius. While in Montreal, she served in the forces for a short period of time and worked in the retail industry. As a mother, she was the best! She loved the outdoors and many a holiday was spent camping in Champlain, NY and Picton, ON with her brothers, sisters and nieces and nephews. As her son, these were some of the best memories we shared. Catherine was the daughter she always wanted and they enjoyed each other’s company both shopping and dining at her favourite restaurant, Boston Pizza. In Calgary, Donna and Ed Kryzanowski were the most special couple who helped Dorothy along in life and asked for nothing in return.

A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through

Condolence Messages

  1. Nancy Horne :

On behalf of my mother, Eileen Horne, and our family, I want to express our deep sympathy to Danny and his wife, at the loss of his mother.
My mother Eileen (Dorothy’s sister) often speaks of her childhood growing up with her brothers and sister in Montreal. They were a large family and always had lots of laughs together. I remember visiting Danny and his parents in St. Laurent, and having them visit us in Maisonneuve. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this sad time.
