Grace Corson, of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the age of 90 years.
Grace, the daughter of Emily and William Clough, was born on August 12, 1923 in Hull, England. She met and married John Edward Corson, of Calgary, while he was stationed in England during the war. Two months after their wedding, Edward was returned to Canada and within a year, Grace immigrated as a war bride to begin her new life in Calgary. With an exemplary sixty-three year marriage to Edward and a strong family foundation, motherhood was her greatest achievement.
Grace is survived by eight children, Sandra, Brian (Debi), Carol, Glenda (Terry) Gouliquer, Bill (Deborah), John (Cindy), Donna (Ray) Messner, and Wendy (Greg) Mayer; seventeen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Edward on April 4, 2009; her parents; and two sisters.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) Monday, May 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
