September 13, 1920 – July 27, 2010
It is with sad-filled hearts we announce the passing of Chris on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the age of 89 at the Southwood Hospice after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He will be deeply missed by his “darling” wife Alta, his children Gordon (Penny), Tanya (Steve), Donald (Sandy) and Terrylee (Alex) along with his ten grandchildren, Meghan, Christopher, Gordon, Ryan, Kyle, Jared, Christopher, Steven, Iain and Taesagh and many dear friends.
Chris was born and raised in Craik, Saskatchewan, the son of Alma and Christopher Gray Cooling. At the age of 19 he chose a life-time career by joining the Royal Canadian Air Force becoming a pilot, serving in WW II and serving his country. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Chris went on to work for Hook Outdoor Advertising. Upon his retirement he continued to pursue his love of golf being a long time member at the Inglewood Golf Club. This together with wonderful times spent with family and friends is what made him feel truly happy and blessed. Chris was the ultimate gentleman who always showed kindness and patience, he was a true inspiration and role model to us all. Our lives have been deeply enriched by his presence and he will forever dwell in our hearts.
