Howard beloved husband of Elizabeth of Calgary, passed away suddenly at the age of 86 years.
Howard leaves behind his loving wife Elizabeth, daughters; Abby, Christine and Paula. Grandchildren; Harry and Sydney Willis and Declan and Rylan Smits.
Howard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was born in New Westminster BC, January 22, 1926. He later served in the Navy from 1943 – 1945. Howard’s mother had to sign permission for him to enlist in the navy because he was underage. Howard attended UBC where he achieved his Law Degree in 1952. Howard joined Shell Oil first and then was a partner in various firms, culminating with Cook Snowdon. Howard loved fishing, pheasant hunting, horseback riding, air shows and international travel. Howard served as a Calgary Public School Trustee, ran as a candidate for the Provincial Liberal Party and he was very proud of being one of the founding members of the Reform Party. Howard was an avid reader, a member of the Ranchman and Petroleum Clubs. He was a movie lover, enjoyed the celebration of family events and considered himself a port aficionado. Howard continued practicing law until he was 78.
A family Graveside Service will be at Edenbrook Memorial Gardens. A private Celebration of Howard’s Life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
