CONRAD, May Lucille Annie
April 6, 1924 – Edgeworth, SK
October 7, 2014 – Calgary, AB
After a brief illness, God’s faithful and loving servant May passed away peacefully at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary.
May attended secretarial school in Regina and, before marrying Edgar, worked for the tax office in that city. She and Edgar came to Calgary in 1949 and she clerked for a time in a local store before Dianne was born. She loved to sew and spent many a long night making new school dresses for her daughters each month. After her daughters were grown, she went back to clerking, first in the fabric department at Woodward’s and for several years at Silk-O-Lina in Southcentre. After that store’s owner decided to retire, May worked for a time as a receptionist for R3 Resources Ltd. She and Edgar were among the founding families of St. Cecilia’s Parish where she became a lifetime member of the CWL and attended Mass faithfully right up until the time she suddenly became ill.
She will be cherished forever by her daughters Dianne and Joyce (Dave); her grandchildren Karl, Christina, Ken, Colleen (Daniel), and Alan; her great-grandchildren Jerome and Kaylee and her sister Jeanie and brother Carol (Jean). She was predeceased by her husband Edgar, grandson Doug, and her brothers Leonard and Vernon and several others of her relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Cecilia’s Parish (321 – 90th Avenue S.E.) on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.
