  4. Valerie S. Gower :

My condolences to the family of Winnie Connonly in this time of sorrow.

In 1970 Winnie taught me all the ins and outs of working for the Calgary Board of Education (CBE); she took me under her wing and trained me on processing all the Library Books for schools. Over the years besides being working colleagues, we became friends.

Winnie, Bill and I often got together in their home to catch up on things over a lovely dinner; Winnie on her latest trip and me on what was happening at the CBE or later in my own new business. Winnie always had good advice and was always willing to share to help people.

While we weren’t able to see as much of each other over the last few years, we kept in touch; I will miss hearing from my friend, especially at Christmas, her calls were in place of cards and I enjoyed them thoroughly!

Thank you Winnie, for being part of my life. Along with her family, I will always have a special place my heart for her. Adieu Winnie!

    Valerie.
