  7. Re: Roy Comer
The wife and family of Roy Comer do not know me. However after noting the obituary in the newspaper,I feel obligated to send you my sincere condolences.
I knew Roy as a customer approximately 30 years ago when he worked at Montreal Engineering and I was with Flakt Canada.
Montreal Engineering represented Calgary Power (Transalta Utilities)and Flakt was a supplier of equipment for the power stations at Sundance and others.
While our relationship was purely a business relationship, I always found Roy to be a very fair, practical and sensible engineer who I could talk to as we solved problems and issues. We enjoyed many business meetings and lunches and Flakt was well aware that maintaining a positive image with Roy was important to our success.

I am sure he was a devoted husband and father and that he will be missed by all who were fortunate to know him.

  15. Irene and Family,

I will remember Roy as a man who not only knew his stuff, but as a human being who understood people, what they needed and how to treat them. He was a great mentor to younger engineers. We also managed to quaff a few pops together over the years.

    With Sympathies and Greatest Regards

  18. Glen Hammerlindl :

I returned home from B.C. to hear the news that Roy had died. I knew Roy through work. We were work associates at Montreal Engineering in the late 1970’s. I can’t tell you the number of times that I would reflect back to those days and see Roy in my mind’s eye and hear his chuckle. One of the things I will always remember about Roy is his attitude to work and I imagine, to life. I haven’t worked with many people whose attitude was as positive as was Roy’s. I hope he was able to maintain that to the end. My life has been enriched for knowing Roy.

  22. Jerry& Madeleine Vienneau :

I have been trying to reach you our dear Irene. I found this on line. I know its been long, but it brought back so many beautiful memories, of Roy, and you. I sensed he was leaving us the year we visited. He was becoming confused, and didn’t have that spark in his eye, that I noticed the first time I met him. He had come over to borrow a shovel. It was early spring, and the doors were still snowed in, because the family had put up the parents home for rent. There was a chemistry, between us that probably started many centuries, back in our homeland of England. My grandfather & grandmother Stimson arrived in Stjohn N.B., in the early 19 hundreds. I live in a strong French community, that you surely remember Irene, thanks to a racial postmaster, who learned the hard way a lesson about life, when I confronted her on this after you left our village. So I offered a shovel to Roy, only with the agreement that I could help,& that he would except a cup of tea, being I knew the English enjoyed a good cup of tea. I think we also had a good cold beer. He he…You soon came into the picture, to the delight of Madeleine and I, and certainly peter & lisa. You were both like a second set of grandparents living right next to us. It was such a positive experience for all of us. You taught us so much, about respecting, and loving your neighbour. With Madeleine’s life changing illness, it put an enormous adjustment period in our lives. I was stuck in a cloud, and couldn’t find my way out. Myself I was involved in a terrible car crash on Feb 1st, 2013. I collided head on with a oil tanker, on route to cambellton, visiting my mother in hospital. I had severe injuries, but I will walk again with a hip replacement in the future. All that weight training paid off in that instant. My stomach tore open, but muscles kept me from opening right up. We both got a second chance. I went from 160lbs, to 110.I crossed over, as they say, and rest assure my dear Irene, that our Roy hears only our thoughts of love, caring, and joy. He does not feel our pain, but our love, and great memories. Therefore enjoy today, it is a gift, that is why why they call it the present. We are all going to be alright, the cloud as lifted. Love you., Jerry Madeleine Peter & Lisa who now as a beautiful daughter & son of her own.x.o…Take care viennmad@hotmail.com
