COMBEN, Robert (Bob) Edward

January 1, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta

Bob Comben, beloved husband of Jessie Comben (nee Pert) of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the age of 86 years.

Born and raised in Calgary, Bob was a proud Calgarian. Most of his career was spent in automotive sales in the Calgary area with brief adventures in Kamloops and Courtney BC. In retirement he was a dedicated member of the Spruce Meadows Drivers and a volunteer at Canada Olympic Park and the Olympic Oval and other venues and events…wherever he was needed.

Bob is survived by Jessie, his wife of sixty-two years; his son and daughter-in-law Ted Comben and Dianne Haley of Calgary; his brother and sister-in-law Herb and Catherine Comben of Kelowna; sister-in-law Maxine Kulchyski of Calgary, his sister Linda Rogers of Calgary; nieces and nephews, Shanda Aalbers of Red Deer, Calla and David Shaw, Herb Comben Jr., Chris and Laura Grant all of Calgary, and David and Elizabeth MacDonald of Edmonton.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at the Bethany Care Centre (916 – 18A Street NW) on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 2:00p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Special thanks to all the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic and Bethany Care Centre Calgary for their compassion and care shown to Bob.
