COLLISON – Rodney Charles Harwood

June 2, 1942 – August 30, 2010

Rodney Collison, beloved husband of Carol Collison of Bragg Creek, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010 at the age of 68 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Carol, three children Brad, Stacey (Ray) and Chad (Kristy) and six young grandchildren Savanna, Sierra, Niko, Barrett, Marco and Reese.

He met and fell in love with Cas, who would be his wife and lifelong partner, in England. Together they immigrated to Canada and worked hard for many years to create a life of love and support for their family. They shared many, many adventures. Rod loved to fish and shared his passion with his wife, children and young grandchildren. Rod loved Bragg Creek, and enjoyed very much the quiet moments with his family and friends over a bon fire where he could regale his countless stories from times past. Rod was a provider above all and wanted nothing more than to take care of his family. His quiet soul, gentle heart, and keen mind will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Cochrane Funeral Home (369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB, Telephone: 403-932-4740), on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.  You may forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

  1. Chris and Darrell :

Darrell and I are saddened and sorry to hear of your loss. We didn’t know Rod well but he and all your family made us feel so welcome as if we’d known you forever when we visited your house with my sister and brother-in-law (Teri & Neil Bonel). Rod was a wonderfully fun guy with lots of laughter. Sending you love and sympathy at this very difficult time.

  6. My deepest sympathy to you and your family in this most difficult time. I met Rod while I was on a job assignment in Melbourne in 1997. We shared a few Friday afternoon tee off times in the golf courses of this city. Followed by, of course a few beers on the 19th hole to talk about the good golf shots of the day. I am pretty sure, he can squeeze a round of golf up there.
