COHEN, Bernard Joseph

Sept 16, 1929 – January 26, 2014

On Sunday, January 26, 2014 Bernard Joseph Cohen passed away at the age of 84 years.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Clarice; his children Ian (Brenda), daughter Frances (Howard) Lowenstein; his very precious grandchildren Marc, Whitney and Michael Lowenstein and Padraic Cohen; his loving sisters Ruth (Mort) Levitt and Dianne (Noel) Jampolsky; brother Myer (Anita) Cohen and sister-in-law Bernice Cohen.

He was pre-deceased by his mother and father and his brother William (Bernice) Cohen.

Bernie had many nieces and nephews and each one was a blessing to him as he was a great one for family. He loved volunteering at the Rocky View Hospital and was a member of the Heart to Heart Support Society. He was a long time member of the Beth Tzedec Synagogue and was one of the original “back row group” at Saturday morning services. He loved to meet and greet the people he came across. He will be greatly missed by Clarice, children, grandchildren and family.

Funeral Services will be held at the Beth Tzedec Synagogue (1325 Glenmore Trail SW) today, Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park (122 Shalom Way SW). Condolences may be forwarded through
