  2. Darin was like a son to me. I met him when he was 8 years old playing hockey with Chadd Wlodarek! They have remained friends for over 20 years which is very special to me. Darin and Chadd worked together at Encana when I did and always made me laugh. Darin has always been there for Chadd and remained a true friend! They were like brothers and always had each others back. I will always be grateful! My love goes out to Michelle, Tracey and family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We loved Darin and will miss him. He has and always will have our love and will never be forgotten. Love you kiddo!

  12. Darin was like a big brother to me. Although we didn’t speak or see each other, he was always there to protect me no matter what. He was best friends and played hockey with my oldest brother Adam Thomson, I remember being really young and watching them play from PSA all the way to AAA. He was an amazing person and was always laughing or smiling. He would always light up the room with his presence.
My sincere condolences to his family.
Just know your son impacted a lot of people’s lives in such a good way, he’ll truly be missed.

Words cant express how sadden we were to hear of your loss. We met Darin when he started playing hockey with our oldest son when they were 8 years old and they became friends. Darin was like family to us and even worked for Dan. Darin was a great worker. Dan remembers pulling up to the house to get him and everytime he was always standing in the livingroom window ready to go…always on time and always there. Someone so special will never be forgotten. God has gained an amazing angel to watch over all of us.

  18. Met Darin at chinook college in 06, we shared a science class, got to chatting and stayed in touch, I have been living in BC for the last year but visit Calgary almost monthly, I ran into him a few times this year and he even called me up 2x when I was back, I was happy to call Darin a friend, we had some great conversations over the years and he always would ask how you were when you bumped into him, he was always polite and kind to those he knew. I know he will be missed by everyone that knew him, truly saddened by the news last week… RIP
