Clarke, Linda D. (nee Stracey)

Linda D. Clarke passed away at the Agape Hospice on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the age of 60 years. Linda was born on June 19, 1948 in Esterhazy, SK. She met Robert Clarke in Regina, SK and moved to Calgary in 1967, and they were married in 1968. It was here that they raised three daughters and Linda kept busy running the local preschool and volunteering for various school activities, census taking, and election services. Linda also worked for KPMG as a receptionist for several years. In 1988 they moved the family to Lethbridge, where Linda continued to work for KPMG. In 1993 they moved again, to Sherwood Park, where Linda started work as a receptionist with ATB Financial. She continued work with ATB after returning to Calgary in 1995. Through the years Linda became known for her generous nature, baking and cooking skills, and never ending talent for crafts and floral arrangements. Her greatest joy was spending time with her six grandchildren. Linda is survived by her mother Doris; husband Robert; her three daughters and sons-in-law, Stracey and Brent of Red Deer, Tara and Paul of Airdrie, and Brandi and Mike of Calgary; her sister Diane and her brother Barry. She also is lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren, Benjamin, Caleb, Jarrett, Evan, McLean, and Alexandra. A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
