Chynoweth, Ed

Ed Chynoweth, beloved husband of forty-five years to Linda Chynoweth of Calgary and loving father and best friend to Jeff and Dean, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the age of 66 years.

Ed was born on December 14, 1941 in Dodsland, SK. Ed and Linda moved from Saskatoon to Calgary with the Western Hockey League in 1976 and have resided in Calgary ever since. Ed will be remembered as a builder of the game of hockey with the Western Hockey League and the Canadian Hockey League.

Besides his loving wife Linda, Ed is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Michele Chynoweth of Cranbrook, BC, Dean and Rebecca Chynoweth of Swift Current, SK; and was also “Poppa” to three grandchildren, Courtney, Ryan and Stella. He is also survived by his siblings, Don (Buck) and Arlene Chynoweth of Kindersley, SK, Jack and Brenda Chynoweth, Joan and Chuck Ogle, all of Saskatoon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at First Alliance Church (12345 – 40th Street S.E.) on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Foothills Country Hospice Society, P.O.     I am over due recognizing Mr. Ed Chynoweth’s contribution to Major Junior Hockey in Canada and his un -timely passing in 2008. I wish yourself success in your Hockey Coaching and or Management as for your brother Jeff. The W.H.L. fledging maverick League is a very good Feeder System for The Pro’s and also a great experience in itself. Ex W.H.L. 1981 player is who I am. From Doug Hall
