On the beautiful winter morning of January 7th, 2015 after breakfast and bird watching with one of his great grandchildren, Madan; John Chunta peacefully passed away at his family home.

He ascended into heaven in the loving arms of two of his grandchildren, Anastasia and Connor. At the age of 87 he chose to live every day encouraging and inspiring all whose lives he touched. He is survived by his two daughters, Leslie (Jack) and Patti (Ted); four grandchildren, Jim (Tracey), Shannon (Jason), Anastasia and Connor; three great grandchildren, Joshua, Logan and Madan. John is also survived by his two brothers, Andrew (Roni) and Joseph. Our family takes comfort in knowing that he can now dance in the stars with his beloved wife Helen, who passed before him in 2006.

A Private Family Service will be held. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers we request that a donation to a charity of your choice be made in his honour.

“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”

In living memory of John Chunta, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Cochrane, 369 RAILWAY STREET, COCHRANE. Telephone: 403-932-4740.
