I had the privilege of working closely with him during the past 20 years at NOVA and TransCanada and always appreciated his insight and counsel on a wide variety of issues we faced within System Design. His valuable contributions will be greatly missed. I am sorry that I will be unable to attend his memorial service on Friday as I will be out of town but the family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you celebrate Bill’s life.

  5. I knew Bill for most of my twenty-two year career at NOVA and TCPL. I did not work directly with him, but for much of my career, I worked on the same floor and eventually occupied the adjacent office. I socialized with Bill and we shared some personal philosophies. Bill was intelligent and liked a good arguement, but he was never pretentious. In fact, he was hospitable and gracious with everyone. Certainly, Bill was a kind and humourous man who seemed to enjoy opportunities to socialize with his co-workers in order to know them better. I really liked Bill and I will miss his friendly, easy-going presence.

  9. Chuck Eggert, Penticton :

To all Bill’s family, I am sorry for your loss. Bill and I were roommates at university in Waterloo, and again with Bill’s parents in Calgary. We shared many great times together, along with many of our classmates. Among other things, Bill had a great sense of music, and introduced us to a lot of great bands I still listen to today.

  11. Dave Murray :

I had the pleasure of working with Bill for only a few years, but I learned much from him. He always brought great insights to our team. I will never forget the first meeting I was in with him, and saw him doodling – a labrador retriever in orthographic projection. Bill was a man who found the nexus of engineering, arts and humanity. Bill is sadly missed. Unfortunatley I can’t attend the celebration of his life today but my thoughts and prayers are with you.
