CHANDLESS, Cecil Raymond

December 14, 1928 – November 2, 2012

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the death of our beloved husband and father, Cecil Raymond Chandless. On November 2, 2012, this wonderful man passed away to be with his God. He had the beautiful, peaceful passing he so deserved.

He was born in England on December 14, 1928 and moved to Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada in 1969 with his wife, Luce, his son, Cecil-Henry, and his daughters, Caroline and Elizabeth.

He was a part of building up the town of Rocky to what it is today. Cecil and Luce started and contributed to many community programs over the years. Cecil was actually the very first male driver for Meals on Wheels in Rocky!

Although Cecil and Luce moved to Calgary for his health problems more recently, they loved and were loved in “their little town”! Cecil and Luce were always grateful so many people were good to them in Rocky. Cecil’s unwavering faith is now a great consolation for us because he is at peace with God.

Cecil is survived by his loving wife, three children and their spouses, three wonderful grandchildren, a brother, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, God children and many, many loving friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 1:00 pm at St. Michael’s Catholic Community Church at 800 – 85th Street S.W. Calgary, AB. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Cecil was a very generous man, so instead of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

In living memory of Cecil, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W Telephone: (403) 243-8200.
