CHANDLER, Irene Marjorie

December 1, 1925 – August 29, 2012

Irene Chandler of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the age of 86 years.

Irene was raised in Rosedale, AB. She went to Business College in Calgary and worked for John Deere and AMOCO until she left to raise her family. Irene married Tom Chandler on June 11, 1960. They were involved in square dancing and met through the Y Horizon’s and later belonged to the Banff Trailer’s Square Dancing. They were also very active with hiking and belonged to the 5th Dimension and M&M’s senior hiking groups. Irene was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church until recent years.

Irene is survived by two sons Jim and Tom. She was predeceased by her husband Tom Chandler.

A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through
