  2. Maureen Hart :

To all of the Casey Family,

I was so saddened to hear about your Mom. She was such a strong soul and has gone through so much in recent years.

Even though we’re miles apart, we’ve always felt a strong connection to our western cousins and ‘Sister Ann’. I was fortunate to get a quick visit in with your Mom 11 years ago, when I was in Calgary for a brief visit. And very happy to introduce her to my daughter…her namesake, Anne (with an ‘e’)…

Aunt Ann and Dad (Uncle Paul) were very close throughout their lives, despite the distance between them. They would have long phone calls when they would talk, debate and laugh, and it was great to hear it all. We were all so glad that Dad got that last visit in to Calgary about a month before he died. Although it was difficult to see your Mom so frail, he thoroughly enjoyed the visit and thought you were all incredibly welcoming.

I’m not sure that I can make it out to the funeral, but I wish you all the best over the coming days and weeks. And please know that as always, we’re thinking of you.

    Maureen Hart
