December 18, 1956 – Sezze, Latina, Italy
October 24, 2013 – Calgary, AB
It is with great sadness we announce the loss of Enzo at the age of 56. With his family at his bedside he gently closed his eyes and joined his father. With dignity Enzo fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Enzo was born in Sezze, Latina, Italy and immigrated to Canada with his family in June 1965. He shared 31 wonderful years with his wife Serafina and was a loving and proud father to his 2 sons. Before his passing he had the joy of welcoming a granddaughter and a daughter-in-law into his heart.
Enzo was an avid fan of the Edmonton Oilers and Eskimos. He also never missed a Grand Prix race on TV cheering his Ferrari team on. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends, especially his Sunday morning coffee with his mother. Enzo started his career as a hairstylist, owning his own salons. He later moved on to a career with Graham Construction. One of the projects Enzo worked on and loved was the Glenmore/Macleod underpass where he painted the wall of sculpted fish. Think of Enzo when you drive by as we called them “Enzo’s fish”. We will miss his Italian/English accent when he answered the phone “Yello” instead of “hello”. He will be forever remembered as a gentle soul loved by all.
He is survived by his loving wife Serafina; and sons, Salvatore (Ashley) Carlesimo, Carlo Carlesimo; granddaughter Keightyn Carlesimo; mother Giulia Carlesimo, sisters, Lori (Domenic) Arcuri and Graziella (Nick) Lupi; in-laws, Joe and Franca DiAlessandro; brothers-in-law, Antonio DiAlessandro, Carlo (Christina) DiAlessandro; nieces and nephews, Joanna (Eric) Brophy, Julia Arcuri, Nikki and Daniella Lupi, Adrian and Clara DiAlessandro; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Calgary and Italy. He was predeceased by his father Salvatore Carlesimo.
