CAREY, Arthur John

January 9, 1926 – November 5, 2012

It is with deep sorrow that the family announce the peaceful passing of their eldest brother Arthur John Carey on November 5, 2012.

Art is survived by brother Sydney (Jean) of Australia, sisters; Valerie (Allan), Rosemary (Allan), Judith (Ron) and sister-in-law, Susan all of the UK, and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered dearly by his many friends.

Art was predeceased by the love of his life for 34 years, Marjorie Alberta (Keen) on June 8, 2001. He always said he was grateful that Marj was not born in Saskatchewan. He was also predeceased by younger brother, Robert in December of 2011.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Kamilla Saieed, Dr. Claire Temple-Oberle and Dr. Sy Lam. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Jenny and her team at Royal Park Care West for their exceptional, kind and compassionate care of Art.

Condolence Messages

  1. Sister Ju (Judith) and Ron :

Although I am the youngest sibling and Bud as we have always known him (Art) was the oldest we were close. We will miss our monthly phone calls and the laughs we had as he would tell us all the capers he had been up to. We both had a love of animals too. He is now at peace with Marj at his side. You will always be in my thoughts Bud and will have that little tipple for you every so often. God Bless and I love You.

You and Marj where the perfect double act, a truly lovely couple. Uncle Bud I will never forgot the time that I came to see you in Canada and within hours I had to visit the dentist, I was so scared but you held my hand and made everything good again…so that the holiday wasn’t ruined. You will be sadly missed xx
