    To: Shannon and family

Life is sad. Life is busy. Life is happy and we live on. Shannon We are so sad that we did not know your mom was so ill. It seems like just yesterday we heard she had cancer and today her life is being remembered. We are very very sorry we were not there. In the past 2 years with our grandaughter having cancer treatments and undergoing a bone marrow transplant, we know what you must have had to go through with your mom and we wished we could have been there to help you and your family. We remember your wedding and it was one of the highlights of that summer between going to Westlock to visit Bill’s sick mom and Charlize, in the Stollery, we enjoyed that weekend very much. We were very happy to see Barb and how well she looked. We enjoyed our time with her that day very much. She always made us smile, she had a good sense of humor, even though to many she came across as being so tough. Years have passed but we miss my time spent with you and your family. You were like family to us and we would really like to spend more time with you and your new family and get to know you again. We are very sorry again for not being there. If we had known we would have come. Your mom will be remembered by us always. One day a long time ago sitting by the pool at the “Shores of Maui’ she leaned over as we were suntanning and said “Who do you think will still be together 20 years from now?” I really thought she was crazy asking that at the time, and now more than 20 years have passed. I know now be aware life has a lot of curves, many we think will ever happen to us. Be strong, enjoy life, remember the good times because there will be many more. Enjoy your life and family. Your mom would want that for you. Don’t be a stranger to us. We would love to see you Ryan and family. We have a lake front property with (3) full R.V. hookups. Maybe we should plan a weekend this summer. Sorry again for your loss. Love Bernie & Bill
