Barry Ian Caplan formerly of Montreal, QC, passed away surrounded by his family at Agape Hospice in Calgary, AB after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Besides his loving wife Rita Caplan, Barry is survived by his son Steven, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Thayne Blunston, two grandchildren Rhys and Alina Blunston and brothers Allan and Charlie Caplan.
Barry enjoyed all sports and boxed as a young man. He loved cars and enjoyed driving, working as a chauffeur for many years in Montreal. His real passion however was cooking. He was known as “The Chef” who loved to cook meals for his family, neighbours and friends. Everyone who knew Barry quickly realized that he was an amazing story teller and could always make you laugh and smile with his jokes. His carefree and fun loving attitude kept him young at heart all these years.
Barry will be forever remembered for his generous spirit, his kind heart, and his vivacious personality. His passion and loyalty for his family was undeniable. He was our “Homer”!
