It is with great loss and sadness the family announces the passing of Mick on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the age of 72 years.
Mick will always be remembered for his kind heart, big laugh, and great sense of humor. He was dedicated, passionate, loyal and hard working. Mick worked for Alberta Gas Truck Line (Nova) from 1966 – 1975 quickly working his way up to General Forman. After leaving Nova Mick sold real estate, and was the owner of a successful painting company. Mick loved hockey, and he was his grandson Jesse’s biggest fan and proudly attended many of his games. Mick enjoyed sharing the beauty of his garden with his good neighbours and many friends.
Mick is survived by his daughters, Shelley (Mike) Steenhart and Wendy (Clarence) Irwin; brother Len (Val) Campbell; sister, Gloria Apple; grandchildren, Jesse Steenhart, Melissa and Candice Irwin, Dylan, Karlee, and Nicky Begg; his stepchildren, Tyler and Travis Brown, Tracey Retallack and families. Also mourning the loss is Mick’s loyal and dedicated companion his dog Lola.
Mick was predeceased by his daughter Karen; his first wife Shirley Ronnie; and he now joins his wife Maria on the next adventure in his journey; his brother Teddy; and his parents, Phyllis and William Campbell.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Airdrie Funeral Home (300 Towerlane Drive, Airdrie, Alberta) on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
