December 14, 1922 – Montreal, Quebec
November 5, 2013 – Calgary, Alberta
Our mother and grandmother, Alice “Jean” Campbell (Cavers, nee Abbott), passed from the loving arms of her earthly family into the welcoming arms of her heavenly family on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, one month shy of her 91st birthday.
Jean, originally from Montreal, QC, moved to Calgary with Glenn in 1978, after her retirement from the Bank of Montreal. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Jean loved her family and always enjoyed having all of us over for Sunday dinners. She also belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #264, where she and Glenn enjoyed the dances and playing crib. Her grandchildren will remember her for trips to the Kananaskis Country and Glenmore Park for picnics and her sweet tea. Her daughters will remember her for her generosity, her love of her piano, and the strength of her character and personality.
Jean is survived by her three daughters, Lynn Christiansen, Joanne Gallant, and Karen Cavers; five grandchildren, Melanie, Stephen, Kimberly, Laura, and Miranda; and nine great-grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her grandson Ryan, and her husband Glenn.
