Condolence Messages

  1. Gus, Audrey & Joel Yepiz :

It was with great sadness we heard of Stuart’s passing. We had formed a wonderful friendship with Stuart when he moved to our neighborhood in Cochrane and we referred to him as “Grandpa Stuart”. Always enjoyed hearing the stories of his life as a Merchant Marine.Where he had traveled and the things he had endured in his travels. How he would proudly show us his Medals and explain each one and what it was for. Also saw how his BEST friend, his dog JAKE kept him company while he lived in his own home.It was a sad day for Stuart when he had to move to Bethany Care Centre and could no longer have JAKE to keep him company.I would even venture to say that a PART of Stuart died that day when him and Jake parted ways. Sure will miss you my friend . I hope there are LOTS of KitKat Bars and Pringles chips for you to enjoy on the other side. Rest In Peace GRANDPA STUART.

I taught with Stuart and saw him regularly at the Bethany.
I would very much like to be informed of a memorial service, and would pass it along to other colleagues as well.
He was very involved with the students, coaching and encouraging.
Condolences to his boys and family.

Was wonderful attending Remembrance Day with this brave veteran. I visited with him a number of times while volunteering at the Bethany and it was always a pleasure. Thank you for your service to your country Stuart and may you rest in peace.

  4. Leslie (need Evans) Dayman :

Mr. Byatt, as he was known to me, lived across the street from us in Calgary, Alberta, in what was then a trendy split level with his artist wife, June, and his cocker spaniel, Rufus. On the rare occasion my parents would be out for an evening, Mr. Byatt was on standby. I was not accustomed to being alone and was quite nervous about it. I would call Mr. Byatt who would always come over and reassure me by walking through the house. His calm, sympathetic and patient nature is remembered by me still along with many other pleasant childhood memories. My condolences go out to all his loved ones.
