BUTCHER, Leah (nee Braunberger)
September 2, 1909 – April 6, 2012
Leah Butcher was born on September 2, 1909 and passed away on April 6, 2012 after a two week illness at the remarkable age of 102 years young.
Leah was one of eleven children born and raised on the family farm in the Beiseker area to Frederick and Maria Braunberger. She eventually moved to Calgary where she met and married her husband Arthur Butcher. After Art’s passing on January 3, 1958 Leah moved to Drumheller to care for her aging mother. After caring for her mom until her passing Leah Moved back to Calgary for which she resided for the next thirty three years. In her younger years Leah enjoyed doing a variety of Crafts and many sewing projects. Leah will be remember by all who knew and loved her as a very kind, loving and gentle person. Leah will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Leah is survived by her Nephew; Ken (Irene) Grose and several other Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Maria and Frederick Braunberger; and by her loving husband Arthur Butcher.
A Graveside Service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery (4th Street & 31st Avenue N.W.) on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
