BURNETT, George Russell

March 16, 1931 – Selkirk, Manitoba
October 26, 2014 – Didsbury, Alberta

George Burnett, beloved husband of Dorothy Burnett, Calgary, AB passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the age of 83 years.

George worked at the Manitoba Rolling Mill for twenty-four years before moving his family to Calgary in 1969. He worked in the motel business in Calgary and later in the Crowsnest Pass until his retirement in 1992. George was an easy-going, fun loving person who always had a joke to tell. George and Dorothy enjoyed traveling during their retirement and also spent a lot of time at their cabin in Moyie Lake, BC. George loved driving his motor boat, creating wood projects in his workshop, and spending time with his family. He most often had a dog by his side.

George is survived by his wife Dorothy and their six children, Kent of Penticton, BC and from Calgary: Janis, Cinde Little (Jim), Darin, Jeff (Brenda), and Linda; three grandchildren, Amanda (25) and Kyle (22), both of Penticton, and Justin Little (14) of Calgary; as well as one sister, Jessie Ball (Gerry) of Oshawa, ON.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Dorothy Watters, Marjorie Temple, and Shirley Rogers; and his brother, Hugh.
