The family of Marjorie Budd sadly announce her passing on Tuesday, November 14, 2006.
She fought her battle with cancer with her usual grace, positive attitude and dignity. Marjorie was born in Halifax, NS, on March 24, 1922, to Fred and Gertrude (Henry) Budd. She was a 1943 graduate of Acadia University in Wolfville, NS. Following her graduation, Marj was employed at Acadian Lines, Halifax, until 1955 when she moved to Calgary. She subsequently earned her degree of Certified Management Accountant in 1966, and began a career with Amoco Canada Petroleum in 1967 until her retirement in 1985.
Marjorie was predeceased by her parents; her sister Alice Moody; her brother-in-law Tom Moody; and by her nephew Dr. Charles Budd. She is survived by her brother Dr. John H. Budd of Cleveland, OH; nephew John H. Budd Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; and niece-in-law Susan Budd of Cleveland, OH. She is also survived by her nieces Joanne (Moody) Vos of Gibsons, BC, and Jane Kohut and her husband Duane of Calgary, AB; her nephews Colin Moody and his wife Judith, John Moody and his wife Cath of Vancouver, BC; and nephew-in-law Marius Vos of Shawnigan Lake, BC. She is also survived by a multitude of great as well as great-great nieces and nephews, and many friends. Her family members, and her Francis, McGibbon, Taylor and Irwin cousins and their children were all very dear to her.
Marj has requested that no service be held. Cremation with cremated remains to be interred in the family plot in the St. Stephen, NB.
