BRUCE, Walter Lendrum (Buzz)

September 9, 1932 – May 29, 2012

We are saddened to announce the passing of Buzz Bruce of pneumonia at the Rockyview General Hospital in the early hours of May 29, 2012 at the age of 79 years.

A native Calgarian, Buzz spent many years in Victoria, BC for his education, before moving to Coquitlam, BC to work for McMillan Bloedel. The golf course would always be his second home. He and his family returned to Calgary in 1968 where he was employed at Centaur Motors, returning to Salmon Arm, BC during the summers. Buzz was an avid reader and had a terrific sense of humour, keeping many entertained with his dry wit.

Buzz is lovingly remembered by his son Michael Vernon Bruce and daughter-in-law Cecania “Sam” of St. Albert, AB, brother Graham Bruce and sister Carol McNamara of Calgary, AB. Buzz also leaves four nieces, Jackie Cupit, Judy (Duncan) McLachlan of Calgary, AB, Jeanie (Art) Foulston of St. Albert, AB and Valerie (Ian) Robins of Christina Lake, BC.

Buzz was predeceased by his parents Walter and Anne Bruce and his elder sister Marni Hutton.

At Buzz’s request, there will be no service.

Condolences may be forwarded to www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

The family of Buzz wish to thank Fran and the staff at the Shawnessy Lodge for their kindness over the years. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Rockyview General Hospital for their compassion and care during this difficult time.

In living memory of Buzz Bruce, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: (403)243-8200
