April 25, 1956 – May 29, 2014
Kim Bruce passed away suddenly at home on May 29, 2014 at the age of 58 years.
Kim was born in Calgary, Alberta on April 25, 1956 to Vivian and Doug Bruce. He has one daughter, Alysha, of Calgary; and one sister, Tami, of Coldstream, B.C. He was predeceased by his father Doug in 1999 and his brother Dale in 2012.
Kim attended high school in Edmonton. He went to work at Woodward’s, AGT and Safeway all in Edmonton. He then moved to Calgary and was general manager in the grocery department for Co-op for 11 years, before moving on to Calgary Handi Bus where he learned the city well. This knowledge helped him in his job for Calgary Courier which he held till his retirement.
Kim loved fishing at Baptiste Lake and was a Big Brother to two small boys in Calgary which he shared his passion of fishing and building model airplanes with. Kim played guitar, and sang – especially at the family cabin. Kim had a wonderful sense of humour and always had a pleasant remark or two.
