January 27, 1924 – January 27, 2015

Olive Baird was born January 27, 1924 in Lurgan N. Ireland. She was the youngest of five children born to Sarah Jane Leathem and Allen Baird.

Olive married William James Brownlee in St. Mark’s Church in Portadown, N. Ireland on June 7, 1944. In 1949 Olive and Bill and their two children Paul and Karl immigrated to Toronto Canada. They lived there until 1951 when they moved back to Portadown. Olive and Bill raised a family of eight children Paul, Karl, Karen, Christopher, Linda, Terence, Loren, and Darin while living in N. Ireland.

In the early 1960’s Olive and Bill were married in The London Temple and all their children including those yet to be born sealed to them for all eternity. In 1967 they had the opportunity to move to Horsham, Sussex in England realizing a dream to be close to The London Temple. Here they lived together until Bill passed away suddenly on February 7, 1975 at the age of 52 years.

Olive loved music and played the piano from a very young age. She held many callings in the church that involved music and taught many young people to play the piano. Olive continued to love and play her piano all her life. It wasn’t until 1992 that she joined some of her children in Canada where she has lived ever since. Living at times in Kelowna and Lethbridge so she could be close to the Cardston Temple and Calgary.

Olive is survived by one sister Agnes Gray on born April 23, 1916 and is living in Wales; all her eight children; forty-four grandchildren; and fifty-two great-grandchildren. Olive will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
