March 14, 1925 – September 19, 2013
Kenneth Brown passed away peacefully in Calgary on September 19, 2013 at the age of 88. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Margaret (nee Beatty), his sons David (Susan Winstanley) and Peter (Gale Wagner), and grandsons Alexander and Geoffrey. He was predeceased by his son Keith.
Ken was proud to be a long-time Calgarian, and loved the city and its surroundings. He was raised by his aunt in a loving family with his brother and sister and four cousins. He was involved in the Scouts both as a boy and an adult, and in camping and cabin-life with his growing family. Ken worked for most of his career with Riley’s Reproductions and Riley’s Datashare International. Upon his retirement, he co-founded the Fifth Dimension hiking group, and was an active hiker, cross-country skier, golfer, and curler for many years.
His family remembers him as an active, gentle, loving, and happy man.
A private family gathering will be held in his memory. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Friends of Kananaskis, Suite 201 – 800 Railway Avenue Canmore, AB T1W 1P1, www.kananaskis.org.
