Keith Brown beloved husband of Joan Brown of Calgary passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the age of 87 years.
Keith was born in Edmonton and moved to Calgary with his family at an early age. After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the RCAF #6 Bomber Command, September1943 till March 1947 as a Flight Engineer. On Keith’s return he was employed with Hook Outdoor Advertising till his retirement in Edmonton in 1980 as President. Keith served for 40 years with the downtown Edmonton Kiwanis Club and found it a rewarding experience. His childhood interest in riding and jumping show horses lead him to an all-consuming interest in trophy hunting of big game all over the world. These trophies have been donated to museums in Calgary and Edmonton. Keith loved music especially jazz and barbershop. He was a member of the Edmonton Barbershop chorus and one of their quartets. In 1978 Keith met Joan “the love of his life”. They married at the Crystal Cathedral, Garden Grove, CA by Dr. Robert Schuller in May of 1981. Together they enjoyed exercising, jogging and hiking, especially in the mountains.
Keith is survived by his loving wife Joan. He was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Louella Brown and his sister Phyllis Price.
