Elsie may Brown passed away on June 19, 2013 at the age of 84.
Elsie was born in Rossburn, MB and raised on a farm, attending Valley School in Rossburn. She moved to a farm in Birtle, MB and finished her education at Oxford School in Birtle. Her favorite times were spent with her horse and constant companion Buster. She then married and had her first of four daughters, Heather. After moving to Melville, SK she had her second daughter Colleen. She then moved to Saskatoon and had her third daughter, Beth. She lived in Saskatoon until 1963 at which time she divorced and moved to Calgary where she remarried and had her fourth daughter, Suzanne. Elsie was very creative and used to love crocheting and knitting. She made many beautiful tablecloths and sweaters. She loved to work creating original jewelry from beads and recycled jewelry. She had a passion for painting and the family has many beautiful art pieces to remember her by. She loved to spend a day shopping for clothes and then stopping for lunch with one of her daughters. Her love of Country music and spiritual beliefs kept her strong and helped her overcome many trials and tribulations. She loved nature and would sit for hours and watch the birds in the trees from her kitchen window in Airdrie. In the last years of her life her favorite pastime was to go to the airport with her son in law, Rick, and have a tea and plain donut and watch the planes come in and out for hours. She was a constant support for her family and her off beat British sense of humor kept everybody amused.
