  3. Darlene Lawhead :

It has been some years since I visited your Mother, my God Mother, on the two occasions I was in Calgary. I wrote on occasion to let her know I was doing well, but my last letter was returned. We visited on three wonderful evenings filling our conversations with the little everyday events, family news, as well as the wonderful additions to both our families and all the things which make up a life. Your Mother was very proud of her grandchildren and she spoke about them with great fondness. I am grateful for the time we were able to spend together. We spoke a little of the importance of faith and it was difficult at times to discern who actually was the God Mother, each being firm in our faith.
I found your Mother to be very humble, kind, loving, and gracious lady. I know she will be very much missed because even in our short time together I learned how valuable she was as a person, with qualities I very much admired. I send along my deepest condolences to those who were fortunate enough to have her so close at hand. I want you to know I will always feel something is quite missing on any future visits to Calgary as a visit or two to your Mother on such occasions always seemed to be a highlight of the trip.
I can be reached both through Marilyn or Chuck or by all means feel free to email if you so desire.
My thoughts and sympathy are with you at this sad time and although I can not be there I hope you know I am with you in spirit.

  4. Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. It was with a great sadness and a sense of loss when I heard of Aunt Norma’s death. She was a wonderful person; I have thought of her frequently over the years remembering her as always kind and considerate welcoming me into her home on many occasions. She will always remain within our hearts. Although unable to be there in person, my thoughts and prayers are with you with deepest sympathy,
