January 8, 1944 – May 30, 2012
Bob finally allowed Lung Cancer to win, passing away peacefully at home on May 30, 2012.
Bob devoted his life to his family and leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Maxean; son Ron (Rhonda); daughter Leanne (Lance) Wik; and son Glen (Heather). Bob was the best story teller and loved to share stories and bits of advice to his beloved grandchildren: Dylan Brigley; Tyson (Sarah), Chris, and Kyle Wik; Maxean and Joel Brigley.
Born in Winnipeg, he spent his early years in Edmonton, learning the mechanic trade at his father’s service station, Tower Auto and earning his heavy duty mechanic license with Alberta Government Telephones. A move to Calgary provided him 25 years service with Calgary Transit as mechanic and Garage Foreman. Retirement gave him the opportunity to mow the straightest fairway cuts on the Cochrane Golf Course. His kind voice and gentle touch will be forever remembered by his family and friends, especially all the furry four legged friends that attracted themselves to him. Bob was predeceased by his parents: Austin and Tena Brigley and his faithful companion, Missy, his SPCA special.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Cochrane Funeral Home (369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation Box 68 Madden, AB T0M 1L0 Telephone (403) 946-2361
