It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Carol Brettschneider (nee Brock).

She was predeceased by her husband, Mervyn Brettschneider; her brother, Fred and her parents, Bea and Howard Brock.

She is survived by her beloved children, Mindy (Danny) Joffe, Fred (Michele) Brettschneider and Richard (Donna) Brettschneider. She will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, Molly, Morgan, Riley, Brett, Maddie, Haley and Abby.

Carol was exceptionally warm and kind hearted and always ready to share a laugh with her friends. I have known carol for 73 years. we were together in elementary school, high school
and teacher’s college. our friendship was renewed when she and mervyn moved to calgary
with their children. In all those years I never heard an unkind word spoken about her. she was so warm and kindhearted and always ready to help a friend.
mickey has known carol since she was 3 years old. her mom and his dad played violin in
the same chamber group. we hope that the good memories that you have of your mother and grandmother will sustain you at this difficult time. ricki and mickey gelfand

  3. Adina Gross-Busner :

    Dear Mindy, Fred & Richard,
I have fond memories of the time we spent in the country and Montreal when we were little. I am glad I was able to see you all in Maui, Hawaii. Your mom was a very special lady, and I will never forget those drive thru’s at the zoo, and how Mom always made me feel safe. She will always be remembered and never forgotten. I know she is at peace and together with her love Mervyn. My father has so many special friends with him now, and he adored your mom and dad. May they all rest in peace together. With much love and sincere condolences.

So very sad here at Tie Lake without Carol’s summer visits and great chats. She will be missed. Dogs know too… Morrie’s ball has been in Max’s bed since her funeral.
Thank you Danny, Molly, Brett and Abby for sharing your special memories that everyone will have for many years to come.
Come and enjoy the lake as she always did. We promise not to be too rowdy.

Dear Mindy, Fred, Richard and Family, I am so so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. She was always a breath of fresh air. Although I didn’t get the opportunity to spend a lot of time with her, the moments I did have with her were filled with her joie de vivre and her happy demeanor. You couldn’t help but smile when in her presence. She will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May you be comforted with the wonderful memories you have of her.
    My heartfelt condolences,
    Sherry
