Shirley Boyse, of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the age of 89 years.

She was a long time member of the Glencoe Club and the Glencoe Golf & Country Club where she volunteered much of her time.

She was a decorated figure skating judge, who volunteered for the 1988 Olympics, World Championships and other Regional Events. She was a long time member of the Junior League of Calgary where she played characters such as the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz, Badger in Toad of Toad Hall among others.

Shirley is survived by three daughters Sherri Boyse, Bonnie Way and Debbie Pyke (David) and two sons Tom Boyse and Rick Boyse, seven grandchildren Cameron Way, Doug Way (Liz), Shannon Wickett (Brad), Chris Boyse, Caylan Boyse, Tyler Pyke and Taryn Pyke and two great grandchildren Addison Wickett and Hudson Wickett. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Norm in 2002.

A Gathering will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 2:45 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.     I first met Shirley during the 72 World’s in Calgary. I had just started learning to judge and from then on saw her quite a few times. She was always so encouraging to our son and daughter, Stephanie and David when they were taking Dance tests. Shirley sure worked hard at all levels ufo and including Worlds. We will all miss her greatly.

    Your Mom was very special to me as she was the Chief when I headed the accounting at a major F.S. competition in Edmonton (the one at which I earned my Chief Accountant designation). Then I had the pleasure of meeting up with her again at the golf course. Our lives touched in two of the most important parts of my life and I will remember her with affection and respect.
