Teresa Boyes (nee Murphy) of Calgary passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the age of 95 years.
Teresa spent her youth and early adult life in Moose Jaw, SK and moved to Calgary in 1956. On August 16, 1944, she married her beloved Edwin. Teresa was an active member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church where she was one of the original parishioners. Until the past year she made sandwiches for the homeless twice a month and helped with the church bazaar and Confederation Park garage sale. She was also actively involved with the Second Sixties and St. Luke’s C.W.L. Teresa loved to bake and always had cookies and muffins ready for company as well as pies to take over to a dinner. Dancing was another passion and for several years Teresa was a member of the line dancing troupe at Confederation Park.
Teresa will be sadly missed by her daughter Maureen Zdanowicz; son Mark Boyes; grandchildren, Sarah (Gary), Ryan (Danielle), Emily (Scott), Paul, and Beth (Marc); great-grandchildren, Hannah, Sophia and Madelyn Zdanowicz, Andrew and Graham Runkel. She is also survived by her sister Frances Bathhurst and a bounty of nieces and nephews. Teresa was predeceased by her husband Edwin; son-in-law Ted Zdanowicz; sisters, Mary and Aileen; and brothers, Shirley, James, Lewis, Patrick, and Michael.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
